Laura was a beautiful young girl who always tried to do the right thing. She married young and was taken under the wing of her sister-in-law Josephine(Aunt Pepa). Pepa was a seamstress and a baker and she taught Laura how to cook for her brother Calixto. Being very smart and learning quickly Laura became a great cook and made a living as a seamstress for many years.

Nothing in life was more important than her family and her faith. She believed her husband was the most handsome man in the world, she called him her blue blood. She couldn't believe her luck to have such a great husband. When it came to her sons they could do no wrong and they adored her too, lovingly calling her "Shorty". Nothing made her happier than going to Mass and then feeding her family Sunday dinner.
Laura had a happy life.
