Funeral services were held in the Decatur Federated church Monday afternoon for Mrs. Arthur Gourley. Interment was made in the village cemetery.
Maggie Beck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Beck, was born in Williamsville, Sangamon County, Illinois August 14, 1869 and passed away November 3, 1939 at the age of 70 yrs, 9 mos and 20 days.
When a child she moved with her parents to Nebraska and located on a farm near Decatur where she resided for many years. In 1897 she was united in marriage with Wallace B. Watson who passed away in 1920. In 1924 she was married to Arthur Gourley, who survives her. Early in life she was converted and was a devoted Christian throughout her life.
Mrs. Gourley had been an invalid for years and bedfast for the last three months of her life. Her patience and endurance during her long illness gave evidence of her faith and trust in God. Mrs. Gourley is survived by her husband, two brothers, C.F. Beck of Whittier CA and E.D. Beck of Tekemah, one stepson, Devillo B. Watson and a foster son, William L. Hansen of Trinidad, CO.
