Funeral services for Johnnie Loutie Nester, age 72, of Carrollton, were held August 29, 2003 at Williams & Lord Chapel with Rev. Sonny Redwine officiating and Rev. Benny Watson assisting. Burial was held at New Jerusalem Cemetery in Carroll County with Williams & Lord Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Nester died on August 26, 2003 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. She was born in amd a lifelong resident of Carroll County. She was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Ella Campbell Slawson. She was a member of almaison Baptist Church in Carroll County.
Survivors include her husband, Robert James Nester of Carrollton; 3 daughters, Linda Diane Harper, Patricia Jean Everett and Evelyn Ruth Hollis, all of Carrollton; 3 sons, James Hartford Nester, Sr., John Rayburn Nester, Sr. and Larry Wayne Nester, Sr., all of Carrollton; sister, Margaret Kitchens of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Floyd Denton, John R. Nester, Jr., Larry W. Nester, Jr., Andy Lamar Harper, Ryan Stringfellow, and James H. Nester, Jr.
