Zenia (Tanczewska) Kanon was born in Stawiszyn, (Kalisz County) Poland. She was a Holocaust survivor and met her husband Michael Kanon (also a Holacaust survivor) in Germany after the war. After their marriage they immigrated to Haifa, Israel. Their daughter Lana (Leah) Adel was born and then they immigrated to the USA. There they had a second child Bella Gitel (of blessed memory) who died at the age of 4 months in 1957 due to Lobar Pneumonia. They had another baby boy in November of 1957, Louis. In 1972 they immigrated to Petach Tikva, Israel. In 1991 their daughter Lana (Leah) Adel Segura/Shemesh (of blessed memory) passed away due to Melanoma Skin Cancer. Michael Kanon (of blessed memory) was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 1994 and passed away on June 13th 1995. Zenia Kanon was diagnosed with Dementia in 1997. She was placed in a home for the elderly but due to a fall by a care taker while bathing her, broke her leg and was taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, Israel. Zenia Kanon passed away on September 24, 2003 due to Acute On Chronic Renal Failure and Gastro Intestinal Bleeding. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Louis Kanon, grandchildren and great-granchildren.
