GREENSBORO - Mr. Hugh J. Baysinger, 81, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital after a brave struggle with complications resulting from heart surgery.

A funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Mark Sink. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with military honors.

Hugh was born May 16, 1929 in Greensboro, the son of Carl W. and Zella Young Baysinger.

Hugh was a veteran of the 82nd Airborne US Army and the US Marine Corp, serving during the Korean war.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Baysinger was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline.

Surviving are his daughter, Patricia "Patti" Clapp and friend Henry Wagner of Wilmington, son, Gary L. Baysinger and wife Diane of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren, David Baysinger and wife Rachel, Sara Brown and husband Benjy, Robert Baysinger and friend Heather Bolen, Patricia (Trisch) Hutton and friend Will Arterburn, Tracy Caroline Clapp and friend Jamie Meyers and Charles Talmidge (Tal) Clapp; three great grandchildren, Alexander Brown, Hannah Brown, and Emmah Baysinger.
