Mr. Melvin Ray Allen, 56, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Beacon Place of Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, in Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medallion.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Allen of the home; son, John Allen of McLeansville; and brother, Jimmy Allen of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, at Hanes-Lineberry, Sedgefield Chapel followed by a procession to the graveside for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
