A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel by the Rev. Avon Craven. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Bryant was born September 27, 1921, in Ferum, Va., the son of Samuel Andrew Bryant, Sr. and Janie Sally Kendrick Bryant.
Edward was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of State Street Church of God and had retired from Cone Mills where he was a security guard.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his brother, William Sam Bryant and his sister, Mae Ruth Bryant Coffee.
Surviving are his wife Rulee Bryant of Greensboro; son, Samuel A. Bryant and wife Teresa of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sister, Roxie Viola Bryant Gravely of Eden; one grandson, Samuel Andy Bryant III and wife Carla of Bristol, Tenn.
