He was taken to the Georgia Street Receiving Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:PM on July 28, 1929. He died at the age of 32. Cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head in the hands of the deceased after a quarrel in which Stanley threatened Madie's life they were struggling for the gun. It was listed as self-defense.
