He retired as General Foreman with Union Electric in St. Louis. Bernie joined the U.S. Navy during WW II, and proudly served in the Coast Guard defending the United States of America. He was a member of Gate City Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marcella S. Hudson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma Jean Garner Siemer; a daughter, Pam S. Whitney and husband Pete of Greensboro; one son, Lynn Bernard Siemer and wife Kris of Hickory; four grandchildren, Lynn Bernard Siemer, Jr., Todd Siemer, Brad Whitney, Ben Whitney and eight great grandchildren, Kyler, Coty and Corey Siemer and Grayson, Peter, Cooper, Riley and Declan Whitney.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Reverend John Willett. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
