GREENSBORO - Charles Phillip "Phil" Ennis passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 2 p.m. at Lawndale Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Joe Giaritelli officiating. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Phil was born on February 3, 1940 in Greensboro, to the late Ed Clarrell Ennis and Blanche Styers Ennis. After graduating from Greensboro High School in 1958, he attended both North Carolina State University and Florida State University. He served in the US Coast Guard Reserve and was a charter member of Lawndale Baptist Church. Phil was part owner of Air Balance Corporation until his retirement on December 31, 2010.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Judy; son Scott, daughter Wendy Kokkonis and son-in-law, Paris Kokkonis; grandchildren, Emma Ennis and Philippos Kokkonis; brother, Mike Ennis and wife Karen as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Thinking of others, Phil had registered as an Organ Donor.
