JAMESTOWN - Mr. James "Jim" Albert Butenhoff, 65, a resident of Jamestown, died August 12, 1997.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Butenhoff will be said on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church, with Father James F. Scherer and Father Joseph Zuschmidt, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Butenhoff was born in Wausau, Wis., on Oct. 15, 1931, a son to Albert W. and Helen A. Sielaff Butenhoff. He received a B.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, and retired in 1991, as manager of human resources for CIBA GEIGY Chemical Corporation.

Mr. Butenhoff was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Jamestown Rotary Club, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Percle. On May 2, 1953, he was married to the former Betty Parrish, who survives of the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Barbara B. Simmons of Park Ridge, Ill., Mrs. Cynthia B. Walowen of Sugarland, Texas, and Ms. Laura L. Butenhoff of High Point; and two grandsons, Brandon and Connor Simmons.
