Mrs. Lydia Darling, 82, of Sayre, RD 2, formerly of Auburn Center, Meshoppen, RD2 passed away Monday evening, August 12, 1985 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born in Tioga Co., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Stevens. She spent her early life in the Auburn Center area.
She is survived by six sons: Raymond of Athens, Robert of Montrose, Richard of Nicholson, Edward of Springville, NY, Willard and Gordon, both of Meshoppen and daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Moris of Sayre; 31 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd M. Darling.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen with the Reverend William Nelson, pastor of the Retta United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery.
