Agnes Delores Joye, nee Walker, 73, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born June 26, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at her home with her family by her side after a long battle of cancer.
Agnes was a member of Swansea Baptist Church and loved being involved in the church activities, the church choir. Her profession was in home day care for more than 20 years. Her hobbies were gardening, yard work and was known by many for her passion for John Wayne. Many will remember Agnes for her love for giving.
She was preceded in death by her Daddy and Mom, James C. and Agnes E., nee Vocke, Walker; a best friend, Lois Kopeki; and a special buddy, Jeremy Ward.
Surviving are her four children, John (Marla) Grant III of Glen Carbon, Ill., Susie (Gary) Dedmon of Fairview Heights, Ill., Jerry Grant of Collinsville, Ill., and Cathy (Melissa) Rue of O'Fallon, Ill.; six grandchildren, Nicole (fiance, Chris Mueth) Grant, Wesley (Jamie Stephens) Dedmon, Danielle (Jason) Foley, Anthony Dedmon, Blaise and Morgan Rue; two great-grandchildren, Makayla Nicole Foley and Brett Mueth; a sister, Melba Poole; a brother, James (Marietta) Walker; a niece, Diana Poole; several nephews, nieces and friends; closest friends, Jack (Joyce) Bagley, Wynonna Holley, Juanita Spradling, Mac McCleery, Bob Counsil, Brother Don, Sandy Word and Michelle Brown.
