WINSLOW, Ind. -- Owen D. "John" Erwin Jr., 52, died at 10:29 a.m. Tuesday at Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan. The Sullivan County coroner is investigating the death.
He was a truck driver and had formerly been a bus driver for the Pike County school system.
He was a veteran and a member of Winslow American Legion and Petersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Marlene (Pancake); two daughters, Tamara Wire of Lynnville and Connie Ann Erwin of Evansville; a son, John Anthony of Birdseye; a sister, Cheryl Erwin of Winslow; a brother, Michael of Buffalo, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at Curtis Funeral Home, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery in Coe, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
