Richard 'Dick' B. Tinkham, 65
Served in Korean and Vietnam wars; Legionnaire

COTUIT - Richard 'Dick' B. Tinkham, 65, died Thursday, Nov. 23, at his home.

He was the husband of the late Theresa (Frazier) Tinkham, who died in 2004.

He was the son of the late Carolyn (Bourne) Tinkham, who died in 2004.

Born in Brockton, he attended Dennis-Yarmouth High School, and joined the Army in his senior year. Richard served in the Army for 19 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 2578 in Hyannis, and American Legion, post 188 in Sandwich. Dick enjoyed fishing, and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by two step-sons, a step-daughter, father and stepmother, and two sisters. He is also survived by several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; one aunt; and one uncle.

A graveside service will be held in Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Avenue, Cotuit, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m.

Memorials in his name may be made to the VFW, or to the American Legion.
