Billie Jo Dorety, 82, of Irving, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at Baybrook Village Nursing Home in McKinney, Texas. She was born January 12, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Enoch B. Lester and Nora Lois Witherspoon. Billie Jo was a loving mother, and worked as a nurse at Irving Community Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clarence J. Dorety; her parents; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include son, Michael Dorety of Burleson; daughters Cynthia Dean of Lewisville, Deborah Johnson of Eastland, Vicki Stover of Van Alstyne, and Lisa McDonald of Wylie; brothers-in-law Carl Dorety of Ben Wheeler and Walter Dorety of Grand Saline; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A 1:00 PM Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving. Reverend Wallace Philpot will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Old Kit Cemetery in Irving. The family has requested that memorials be made to The Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or http://www.alz.org
