Florence Marjorie was the youngest daughter of Fred Franklin and Maude Houghtaling Bliven. She was born on the family farm in Byron, Michigan in 1901.

She moved with the family to Lansing, Michigan. There she met and married her first husband, William H Alexander on 20 Apr 1918. Their daughter Virginia was born in 1920.

After William's death in 1935, Florence married Millard Pinkard Burns, eventually moving to Peterstown, West Virginia.

Florence died in Peterstown in 1980 and was buried near her mother, brother and sister in Howell, Michigan.
