Tragically, on Christmas Eve 1956, Corine, her husband Wayne, and their two young daughters, Pamela Jo & Paula Corine, were involved in a serious automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. All were thrown from the car. Fourteen-month-old Pamela Jo was killed; four-year-old Paula hospitalized in critical condition; and Corine & Wayne hospitalized in less serious condition.
