Wrigley Chewing Gum Heiress

Daughter of Denis Enos Sullivan, Jr. and Betty Offield
(Sister of sister of Wrigley Sullivan)

Marriage
To Dr. Howard William Higholt, prominent radiologist

An Aug. 19, 1979, article in the Daily Herald reports the tragic stabbing death of Carlisle Higholt, 40-yr-old wife, mother, and Wrigley chewing gum heiress. Carlisle was a great-granddaughter of William Wrigley, Jr., owner of the Chicago Cubs and the William Wrigley gum company. Carlisle had lived in fear because of anonymous threats and actual violent crimes against the Wrigley heirs. Four years previous, a female relative was found murdered and packed in wet cement in Los Angeles, and Carlisle's own beloved 2-yr-old son Marc died of "apparent heart problems" after receiving cruel kidnapping threats. At the time of Carlisle's death, her central focus in life was to safeguard the life of her precious son Jonathan whom she and her husband lovingly adopted shortly after the death of their son, Marc Wrigley Higholt.
