Cartoonist. His cartoon strips first appeared in the 1890s, in The Western Penman. At the age of 21, he found a job with the St. Louis Democrat as a sketch artist, and 2 years later as an editorial cartoonist for the St. Louis Chronicle. In 1900 he moved to New York and became a cartoonist for the New York Journal, where William Randolph Hearst assigned him to the Chicago Daily News Journal in 1904. In 1914 he moved to New York where he lived until his death in 1930. His many cartoons include "A Piker Clerk," "When A Feller Needs A Friend," "Movie Of A Man," "Someone's Always Taking The Joy Out Of Life," "There's At Least One In Every Office," "Real Folks At Home," "Mr. & Mrs.," and "Danny Dreamer."
