Benjamin F. Emerick, aged 83, of 2332 Union avenue, died at 10.45 o'clock last night at the Altoona hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 6.

He was born at Pennsylvania Furnace on July 31, 1859, the son of James and Hannah (Beamer) Emerick, and had been employed for many years by the Atlantic Refining company, retiring eighteen years ago. His wife. Mrs. Sarah (Michaels) Emerick, died in 1912.

Surviving are five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Belle Walker, at home, Mrs. C. D. Marsden and Mrs. E. J. Muri, both of the city, Mrs. C. R. Hollen and Mrs. H. R. Stauter, both of Baltimore, Md., Edward Emerick of the city and Charles of Brooklyn; twenty-two grandchildren, eighteen greatgrandchildren and one brother, James Emerick of St. Petersburg, Fl.

Mr. Emerick was a member of the Calvary Baptist church.

Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.

Married James Emerick 9/3/1853 and lived in Altoona for thirty years.
Surviving children: William, John, Frank, J. D., Thomas.
Interment in Bellefonte.
