Mrs. Thirza U. Hicks of Duncansville, died at 10.30 o'clock last night in Mercy hospital. She was born March 4, 1878, at Foot of Ten, a daughter of Dr. Luke and Felicia (Jackson) Elcoate, and on March 13, 1907, in the Duncansviile Methodist parsonage was married by Rev. Colburn to William Hicks. Surviving are a half-brother and half-sister, James Megahan of Altoona and Mrs. Martha Chronister of Duncansville. She was a member of the Hicks Memorial Methodist church, Duncansville. Friends will be received at the Liebegott funeral home, Duncansville, after 7 o'clock this evening. Page 24.

HICKS — Funeral services for Thirza U. Hicks of Duncansville will be held at 2.30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Liebegott funeral home by Rev. Louis Barth. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.

Lecture.—Dr. L. Elcoate, well known throughout this
"neck o' woods," delivered a lecture at Fairview school house last evening on the subject, "Phrenology, or Mental Science." The lecture is said by those who were there to have been an exellent one throughout. He held the undivided attention of his audience for an hour. He will repeat it this evening.
