BICYCLE RIDER IS FATALLY INJURED
Charles Rheam Crashes Into Side of Automobile, Driven by Mahlon R. Keagy, at Cross Keys.
Charles Rheam, 18 year old adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brubaker of Cross Keys, was fatally injured late yesterday afternoon when while riding his bicycle near Cross Keys he crashed into the side of the automobile of Mahlon R. Keagy of Buckhorn. Eye-witnesses say the boy had been riding his bicycle in circles out over the state highway for some time prior to the arrival of Keagy's cars. Keagy said he saw the boy at the side of the road and then he suddenly made a quick turn out onto the highway.
The Rheam boy suffered a fracture of the skull when his head crashed through the galss on one side of Keagy's car. The boy was thrown clear of the bicycle. Witnesses rushed to help him but the youth died while being taken to the Mercy Hospital by a passing motorists.

Charles Rheam was born on Aug. 19, 1914, and was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Brubaker when he was 2 years old. His father and mother are both dead. the body was prepared for burial by Undertaker Homer Bechtel of Williamsburg and will be taken to the Brubaker home this evening. Funeral services are planned for Thursday afternoon. Interment will be made in Cross Keys cemetery.
