Charles Raymond Burrell died suddenly August 13, 1998 in Elmira, NY.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Harriet and Sylvester Burrell, one sister, Dolores Burrell Leach and brother Michael Gerald Burrell and one daughter, Juanita Burrell.
Charles is survived by his wife Rhea (Shook) Burrell and children, Charlotte Rae Blymagee from CA, Sharon Burrell from MA, Charles Burrell from MA, Michael (Sue) Burrell from Elmira, NY, John(Sue) Burrell from Elmira, NY and Lori Burrell Richardson from Elmira, NY.
Charles is also survived by two siblings, Allen (Josephine) Burrell of Horseheads, NY and Diane (Ken) Miller of Elmira Heights, NY.

As a child, Charlie burnt his leg. He was over to a friends house playing...and they were melting down metal to make soldiers and his pant leg caught on fire. His friend grabbed a bucket of water and threw it on Charlies pant leg to put the fire out but what the boy didn't know was, that the bucket didn't have water in it, but gasoline. Down through the years, Charlies Doctors wanted to amputate his leg but he wouldn't let them. Charlie said he would die with that leg...and many years later, he did.

Charles (also known as Charlie/John) is my brother.
I watched Charlie go white haired overnight when Juanita was so sick.

Charlie had a great sense of humor which was shocking for everything he went through. In his younger years, Charlie looked alot like Dr. Ben Casey from the Doctor series on TV years ago, for those who may know who I am talking about. (smile) Charlie loved to mimic the comedian, Jerry Lewis. He would even do some of Jerrys lines to different people now and then. Yes, even the famous yell of Jerrys..."Hey Lady". Charlie spoke to anyone and everyone....would answer everyone with something funny without even missing a beat.
He could tell a story and people would actually believe him. I always said he should have been a comedian/actor.

He is now in Heaven with his wife (Rhea Shook Burrell) and daughter, Juanita Burrell.

A big Thank You to "Brenda Lee" for sponsoring my brothers memorial site. That was so kind of you to do.
When you get the chance, would you visit her memorials also?

God Bless,
Diane
