Step Mother
On February 25, 1984 ,the death Angel quietly slipped into the Nortons Hospital and gently took the soul of my beloved step Mother Caroyln Gowen Dickens She is the daughter of the late Eunice and Evelyn Gowen. An employee of Union Underwear Company. She is survived by her husband, Billy Dickens of Elkhorn; two sons, one daughter, and three step-daughters. She is also survived by two sisters, Charolett Crowe and Doris Beams of Campbellsville; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Funeral service was held Feb. 28 at Lyon Funeral Home with burial in the Gowen Family Cemetery in Green County. Elder Herbert Martin officiated. Pallbearers were: Jerry and Bobby Arnett, Charles Tucker, James Carter, Ernie Davis and James VanArsdale. Carolyn had a heart problem, and had to have open heart surgery. Just a few hours after her surgery she died. She was such a loving person. She loved us as her own, she was faithful to her church, a great wife, mother, friend, grandma, she was always willing to share her love and laughter with anyone who needed it. Her smile could light up a room, her soft spoken voice could tame a lion. Heaven gained an Angel when she was called home. ~~ Wedding Anniversary July 15, Fentress, Tn Special Thanks to Anonymous for Sponsorship of this memorial page
