S. E. Burt Dead
S. E. Burt quietly passed at an early hour Friday morning after an illness of four or five weeks. He made his home with his son, J. O. Burt of this place. His daughter, Mrs. Sallie* Stevens of Butler, Oklahoma, and a sister from Fletcher Oklahoma, was with him the last two weeks of his life. He has another daughter in Colorado that could not come. Every thing was done that loving hands and medical aid could do, but God called and he must go. The deceased joined the Missionary Baptist church in 1870 in Alabama. In the absence of a minister, Dr. Pence conducted a short, but touching service at the house, after which the body was laid to rest in the city cemetery to wait the Resurrection mourn. The Landmark extends sympathy to loved ones.
