JAMES HARRIS was born about 1701 in County Donegal, Ireland, according to tradition. He died between 14 Oct 1778 (will written) and 2 Apr 1779 (will proved) in Mecklenburg Co., NC. He mentions his wife in the will, but does not give her name. Family tradition says that he married Mary McIlhenny (b. abt 1709 in PA).
