Royce was born April 27, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to Willard LaRoy and Gladys Gerber Derricott. He attended school in North Ogden, graduating from Weber High School. He attended Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. Royce was a member of the Utah National Guard. He served in the North British Mission. On Sept. 6, 1969, he married Dianne Hymas in the Los Angeles Temple. He was active in the LDS church, having served in various callings, including bishop, on the high council, ward Young Men's president and scoutmaster for many years. He owned and operated Slim's Chevron on Addison Avenue for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne of Twin Falls; his five children, Julie Derricott, Shannon Derricott, Brett Derricott, Jason Derricott and Karissa Derricott; his mother, Gladys Derricott of Ogden,, Utah; and sister, Glenda Adams of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service will be held at 1 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 199@, at the LDS Stake Center on Maurice Street with Bishop John Cox conducting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at White Mortuary and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the stake center. instead of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
