Travis N. Fessenden
Travis N. Fessenden, 80 years, 5 months and 16 days old, died at the family home in this city at 11:40 o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Fessenden was a native of Liberty, III., born July 31, 1859, but he and Mrs. Fessenden had spent most of their married life in Marion county, in the vicinity of Warren. Prior to moving to Palmyra four years ago, they had lived in the Taylor neighborhood.
Mr. Fessenden is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kittie Fessenden and the following children, Delhbert and William Fessenden, of Hannibal; Travis Fessenden, of Quincy; Ben and Hugh Fessenden, of Palmyra. He also leaves brother, Henry Fessenden, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, a sister, Mrs. Mary Miller, of Macon. Mo., three half brothers, Charles and Otis Fessenden, of Winona, Wis., and Mart Fessenden, of Fairfax, Okla., and a half sister, Mrs. Nettie Sims, of the state of Colorado. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren.
The body was prepared for burial in the Chambers funeral home at Maywood. It remained at the family home until the funeral hour Monday. Funeral services were held at the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church near Warren at two o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. J. V. Carlisle, pastor of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal. Burial was in the Andrew Chapel cemetery.
