Ronald Elton Almstadt, 61, of Richmond and a lifelong resident, died Monday December 24, 2007 at his home with the love of his wife Kay and family. He is the son of Effie May Nolan Almstadt of Richmond and the late Irvin Almstadt, born October 21, 1946 in Mt. Clemens. His marriage to Cheryl "Kay" Coyle was in Richmond September 5, 1970.

Ron served his country with the U. S. Navy and Naval Reserves from 1964 to 1970 and is a life member of James Coleman V.F.W. Post # 6802, Richmond. He was employed 38 years with Detroit Edison as a pipe fitter mechanic and spent the last 20 years at the St. Clair Power Plant and retired in July of 2005. He served Richmond on the city planning commission and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond.

Surviving in addition to his wife Kay of 37 years and mother Effie May Almstadt of Richmond are sons William of Wisconsin and Andrew and wife Sonia of Florida and grandsons Ryan Thomas and Ethan Andrew; his sisters, May Lou (Milton) Fistler of Richmond, Cherylnn (John) Brant of Indiana and Darlene (Jim) Burden of Washington Twp. and nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and a nephew Kyle Burden.

His family honors the memory of Ronald and invite you to visit and share Thursday 6-8:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Sherry Schacht, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond, will officiate.

His niece Kristen Nicole Brant will sing and Joe Agosta will accompany her.

Military honors will be conducted.
