She was born in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Charles and Daisy (Brock) Porter.
Janice worked in the accounting department at Clorox while computers were just in beginning stages of integration into business. She also managed a shopping mall, worked for WUPY during the station's early days, worked at the Friend of the Court and most recently was employed for Dr. Jim Strong's office as a bookkeeper.
She was an avid reader and was active in 4-H during her younger years. She loved dogs and cats, who were her constant companions and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Janice is survived by her husband Rudy; children Lisa, Todd, Marcy and Jim; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Karen Golden and brother Jim Porter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Charles.
In accordance with Janice's wishes, a graveside service will be held in Tecumseh, Oklahoma at a later date.
