Clara Doris Dean Kirkpatrick was born 24 Aug 1916 in Ontario, San Bernardino Co., California and died 3 Jul 2004 in Barstow, San Bernardino, California. She was the daughter of Julius Denzil Kirkpatrick and Lavina Rachel Wymore Kirkpatrick. She was called "Doris".

Doris had three sisters,"Elizabeth" Anne Kirkpatrick, Lavina "Ruth" Kirkpatrick, and "Mary" Louise Kirkpatrick and one brother Denzil Victor Kirkpatrick.

Her mother Lavina was awarded a decree of divorce from her father Julius Kirkpatrick on April 17, 1928 when Doris was was 11 years old.

Doris attended Chaffey High School, Chaffey College, UCLA at Claremont, and Redlands, earning a MA in Biology and Study of Child Growth.

Doris married Thomas Ross Brimmer in 17 March of 1942 in Barstow, San Bernardino Co., California. Doris and Tom had three sons. Their first son Thomas Ross Brimmer Jr was born 20 Aug 1945 in San Bernardino Co., California and died 28 Feb 1995 in Riverside, Riverside Co., California. Their second son was born in 1946, he is still living and resides in Texas. Their third son Vic Harold Brimmer was born 18 Mar 1948 in Upland, San Bernardino, California and died 29 Aug 2012 in Loma Linda, San Bernardino, California.

Doris taught at Barstow High School in Barstow, California for 38 years.

She and Tom were member of the First Baptist Church of Barstow for 61 years. Doris served as teacher and librarian for the church. She loved doing Womens Missionary work and singing in the senior choir.

Doris loved her family, church, camping, polishing rocks and gems, watching golf, basketball, and baseball. She also liked watching and attending Billy Graham services.

She was a member of the High Desert Ramblers Camper Club during the life of the club.

She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and received the 5th degree (second highest award) in ESA as a member for 49 years.

She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, Christian Women's Club, Mojave River Valley Museum, Mojave Desert Gem and Mineral Club, and Senior Bowling.
