Joseph Carley, son of Richard Carley and Mary Carley, formerly Neill, was born on 27 March 1893, at The Faythe, Wexford.
His father was then a General Labourer.
In the 1911 census, the Carley family were living at Faythe Street, Wexford.
present were,
Richard Carley, aged 58, a Pensioner, Royal Naval Reserve, married,
Mary, his wife, aged 53, married,
They had been married 33 years and had 10 children, all still alive.
Helena, daughter, aged 26,
Vincent, son, aged 20, a Cycle Fitter,
Joseph, son, aged 18, a Cycle Fitter,
Mary, daughter, aged 15,
Francis, son, aged 12,
all had been born in Wexford.
He died of injuries received in action.
The death of Joseph Carley, aged 22, was registered in West Derby district, Liverpool, in the quarter ended December 1916
