Catherine was born March 30, 1908, in Livingston County to Jacob and Louise (Sutter) Wasner. She was united in marriage to Edwin A. Wiedman on Oct. 12, 1935, in Rensselaer, Ind. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2004.
She and her husband owned and operated a variety store in Henry for 34 years, retiring in 1969. They then moved to a new house, which they built in the country between Henry and Lacon.
Surviving are two sons, Scott (Sue) Wiedman of Henry and Bruce (Ruth) Wiedman of Green Valley, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ella Herman of Morton, Ill., and Jeanette Knapp of Eureka, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She led a full life, enjoying her family, her church and the community. Some of her happiest hours were when she entertained her guests with delicious dinners. Cooking was a passion of hers, which she enjoyed in her home and church. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. They kept in touch so often, giving her many happy memories. She always looked forward to their visits.
Catherine was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Henry, Ill., and the women's group, for which she received an honorary membership in the national organization for Presbyterian women in 1985. She was a member of the Marshall-Putnam HCE evening unit. She was honored in June 1985 for 50 years of membership.
Burial will follow in Henry Cemetery in Henry.
