VARNA -- Myrtle B. Hurl, 100, of 386 Darby Court, Crystal Lake, formerly of Varna, died at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1993, at
Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Born Jan. 9, 1893, in Curryville, Mo., to Joseph and Mary Jane Mudd Bell, she married Olney Hurl on Nov. 24, 1915, in Varna. He preceded her in death, as did her twin sister and another sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Ilene Purdy of Crystal Lake and Mrs.
Carl (Kathryn) Hathaway of Boca Raton, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
She was past director of Marshall County State Bank in Varna.
She was a member of Varna Women's Club and Marshall- Putnam Farm Bureau.
She was a former member of Varna United Methodist Church and a member of Gary United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. The Rev. Robert L. Baker will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Lacon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Varna United Methodist Church or Gary United Methodist Church.
