CHILLICOTHE - Clement H. Schubert, age 100, formerly of 1449 N. Fourth St., Chillicothe, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe, Ill. Clement was born on Sunday, April 30, 1905, in Henry, Ill., the son of Vincent and Martha Sictor[Seichter] Schubert. He married Marie Balensiefen on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1927, in Camp Grove, Ill. She preceded him in death on Saturday, May 8, 1982. Clement is survived by one daughter, Norma McCullough of Peoria, Ill.; two sons: Don (and Twyla) Schubert of Morton, Ill., and Lavern (and Joan) Schubert of Burlington, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Maryann Schubert; five brothers; and five sisters. Clement retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 32 years of service. He enjoyed collecting and repairing antique clocks for more than 20 years. He was an alderman for two terms in Chillicothe. Clement was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Ill. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Ill. Rev. Glenn H. Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be held in the Henry Calvary Cemetery in Henry, Ill. Weber-Hurd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
