Sarah Margaret Dement, daughter of Samuel and Louisa Dement, was born near Forest Home, Powesheik County. Iowa, on August 31st, 1860. She died at her home in Sutherland, Iowa, on July 4th, 1926, her span of life having been 65 years, 10 months and 26 days.
She was married to Frank M. Gaskill on February 8th, 1880, at Auduben County, Iowa. She became the mother of their three sons and two daughters, one son of whom, Bruce, died at the age of 12 years.
The family removed to O'Brien County in 1892, and in the your 1908 took up residence in Sutherland.
Those who survive are her sorrowing husband, Frank M. Gaskill, and two sons, Ona O. Gaskill of Column, S. Dak., and Lewis D. Gaskill of Burke, S. Dak., and two daughters, Mrs. M. G. Dek of Platte, S. Dak., and Miss Alma Zoe Gaskill of Sutherland. She is survived also by one brother, Thomas Dement, of Anita, Ia.
