Sons of William Armstrong, Augustus M. and George W. Armstrong both enlisted on June 4, 1861, at Corinth, Mississippi for 12 months. Both were in Company A, and both were killed in the Battle of Seven Pines, Virginia, on May 31, 1862. Neither son was married or had children.
Note: According to the federal census records of Henry County, Alabama, I have linked the brothers to their parents, but if these are in error, please let me know. George W. Armstrong may be the G. W. Armstrong, 28, who was overseer in Green Mill in 1860 for Hezekiah Wingate, Captain of a Steamboat, who owned 42 slaves living in 9 slave houses.
