Author of numerous books and law review articles on constitutional issues, including "The President, Office and Powers" (1940, 1958), "The Constitution and What It Means Today" (1920, and several updates), "Total War and the Constitution" (1946), and, for the Congressional Research Service: "The Constitution of the United States of America: Analysis and Interpretation" (1952). Appointed preceptor in 1905 at Princeton University by Woodrow Wilson, then president of that institution. In 1908, Corwin was appointed McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence, a seaat previously held by Wilson, and which Corwin held until his retirement in 1946. Corwin also served a year as President of the American Political Science Association.
