HENRY - Thomas W. Lou, 75, of Henry died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at 6:20 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Tom was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Yorktown, Ill., to John T. and Erma V. (Blumenshine) Lou. He married Barbara Steele on May 14, 1960, in Henry, Ill. She survives in Henry.
Also surviving are his daughter, Stephanie (Rick) Porch and his son, John (Anita) Lou, both of Henry; six grandchildren, Jhordis (Dusty) Feddericke, Shayla (Corey) Dever, Cameron Porch, Sophie Lou, Tanner Lou and Madelyn Lou; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents and one brother, Donald Lou, preceded him in death.
He graduated from Henry-Senachwine High School in 1956.
Tom had served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He was stationed in Germany. He reached the rank of SP4 (E-4).
Tom retired from B-F Goodrich after 42 years of service in May 2000.
He was a volunteer with the Henry Food Pantry and the Red Stocking.
He was an active sports booster during the late '70s and '80s. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and umpired for the summer recreation ball games. He also enjoyed gardening and was of the Methodist faith.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, 513 Carroll St. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the memorial home. Father Tom Mizeur will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Full military rites will accorded following the services by the Henry American Legion. Inurnment will be at a later date at Henry Cemetery.
