Elsie (Pace) Lyons, age 92, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born January 8, 1922 in Success, Arkansas to the late William Abraham "Bill" and Myrtle Lee (Rocoe) Pace.

She married Leonard Arie Lyons on April 27, 1937 in Platka, Arkansas. They spent most of their marriage in Scott County, Missouri. Six children were born to this family.

Elsie lived in Sikeston, Missouri for many years. She was baptized into Christ in 1940. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ for the last 40 years.

She was postmaster in Diehlstadt, Missouri for 27 years and merchant for 17 years. She loved everyone and was always willing to help. She spent all of her spare time visiting nursing homes and hospitals.

She is survived by one son Arie Lavelle Lyons of Vernon, Texas; five daughters, Louise Payne of Powderly, Texas, Alma Riley Cloer of Roswell, Georgia, Leaquieta Gardner of Smyrna, Tennessee, Priscilla Lyons of St. Louis, Missouri, Tina Enax of Sikeston, Missouri; 3 sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one sister, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Shady Acres Church of Christ. Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester will be co-officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hitt Cemetery in Success, Arkansas.
