HENDERSONVILLE - Pearl Barnwell, 100, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Barnwell; her parents, Robert and Lois Freeman; four brothers, John, Charles, Clifford, and Joe, and seven sisters, Ellar Jane, Sophie, Mary, Lillie Mae, Clara, Helen, and Agnes.
She is survived by her son, Henry Barnwell, of Hendersonville; her daughter, Nancy Lyda, of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Tammy Lyda, of Asheville, Jeff Lyda and his wife Alicia, of Hendersonville and Jenni Frady and her husband John, of Hendersonville; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Frady and Andrew Lyda; a brother, T.B. Freeman, of Hendersonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Barnwell Family Cemetery with the Rev. Harriett Shands officiating. The family will be at the home.
