Agnes Painter, 90, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born Agnes Loraine Mauck, August 25, 1923 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, she was preceded in death by her parents Samuel J. Mauck, Sr. and Carrie Loreta Mitchell and her brothers James, Samuel Jr., Arch, Russell, Jesse and Robert Mauck. She was also preceded in death by sisters Mabel Gantt, Gladys Wilt and Eugenia Greenwalt. Widow of the late Charles Russell Painter, Sr. of Charles Town, she is survived by three children, Janice Myers of Martinsburg, Ron Painter of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Roger Painter. Agnes lived 82 years in Jefferson County then moved to Tulsa, OK so her son Ron could assist in her care. She enjoyed shopping, eating out, bible study, walking her two dogs Daisy and Minnie and attending Fellowship Congregational Church. Before retirement she worked in the food service industry as a cook. She was an excellent baker and made many delicious things for her family and friends. Agnes loved life and her independence. She lived in her own home until her time of death. She was an outspoken character and was loved and adored by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, WV with the Reverend Duane Jensen officiating. Interment will be in the Edge Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
