Frank J. Wade

Frank J. Wade, 74, of 807 E. Rose St., died at 1 p.m. Monday in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness.

A resident of Springfield the past 32 years, he was employed as a supervisor at the Champion Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1968. Before coming to the Champion Co., he was a welding shop foreman at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Mr. Wade was born April 4, 1900, in Dayton, the son of Clarence and Elnora Cramer Wade, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 397 and the Loyal Order of Moose, and was a former member of the Springfield Management Association.

Survivors include his wife, the former Grace Marie Donahue; three sons, Edward James (Jim), John F. (Jack), and Ralph F. (Butch), all of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Veyveris of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Patti) Clodfelter, of Walton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Victor (Grace) Vallo of Trotwood; 27 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His body was taken to the O’Brien-Kenney Funeral Home where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A Funeral Mass will be sung at 1 p.m. Thursday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Wake services will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church School Building Fund.

Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery.

I believe the obituary is mistaken in Frank J. Wade's father. His father was William L. Wade 1863 -1933. Clarence Wade was his uncle. Elnora Cramer Wade was his mother.
