William Joshua Cox was my g-g-grandfather. He is the son of William Cox and Julia Sullivan Cox. He was born in Dublin, Ireland. His parents were also both born in Ireland. They imigrated to the US in 1871 and he met and married Bridget Monaghan Cox on 06 Feb 1872 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. They later moved to Gonzales, Texas where they raised their family. Their children include George, William, Thomas, Julia, Maggie, Mary, and Sebina. Thomas was killed in a hunting accident.
William Cox was a farmer, and he also rode with Judge Roy Bean. Their wives were friends and their kids played together. I've posted a picture and the explaination that my great aunt gave my mother. I'm told that William took the picture.
