HEDGECOCK WALKERTOWN - Anthony William Hedgecock "Tony", aka "Sarge", 60, left this world to join the spiritual tribe in the sky on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Tony was born January 9, 1950 to Druey William Hedgecock and the late Carolyn Everhart Hedgecock in Walkertown, NC. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 28 years of service and was previously a truck driver with various companies. He was a former member of Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his father, Dru, and partner, Betty Noah, Tony leaves behind a devoted wife, Susan Phibbs Hedgecock; a sister, Sherrie Fowler and husband, Tim, and their children, Samantha, Cole, and Shay; six children and a special daughter: Jason W. Hedgecock and partner, Vickie Ruhala, Tonya Berrier and husband, Jamie, Pam Anderson and husband, Mickey, Jenny Paris, Billie White, Sarah Mullins and partner, Bobby Smith, Sr., and Christy Hollar and husband, Jay; seventeen grandchildren, Nathen and Zack Hedgecock, Hayley, Jamie, and Pacey Berrier, William, Alex, and Amanda Anderson, Samantha Paris, Brittany and Anthony White, Juanita Truesdale, Alexis Mullins, Bobby, Jr., and Leyla Smith, Mason and Jasie Hollar; and a great-grandson, Nathaniel Scott Aldridge; father and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Donnie Phibbs; brothers-in-law, Darryl Phibbs and wife, Valerie, Harold Phibbs and partner, Sandy Shaw and Andy Phibbs; and many other people who loved him. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Sam Harvey and the Rev. Shelby Harbour officiating.
