Anthony G. Merendino, 75 Margate-- Dr. Anthony G. Merendino, widely known area surgeon, died Thursday in Atlantic City Medical Center. He was 75 and lived at 7601 Ventnor Ave.
Dr. Merendino was formerly on the staff of Shore Memorial Hospital, the Atlantic city Medical Center and the former Mercy Hospital, Sea Isle city.
A graduate of Lafayette college and Jefferson Medical School, he was a past president of the Atlantic County Medical Society and was chief of staff of the Atlantic city Medical Center.
Dr. Merendino was a Diplomate of the International Board of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgery and a Fellow of the American board of Abdominal Surgery.
A lifelong area resident, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He also was a member of VFW Post 3361 and the American Legion Post 144, both of Ventnor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Monsay at Blessed Sacrament Church. burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
