Henry L. Brenton, husband of Janette C. Kille, of Southern Palms, Ladson, SC, entered eternal rest July 9, 2007, at the Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, SC.

Mr. Brenton was born in London, England, August 10, 1920, and arrived in New York as an adolescent. He served in World War II and in Korea, after which he was honorably discharged. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, with a degree in electrical engineering, he primarily worked at the General Electric Corporation, from whom he was pensioned. His retirement years were spent in his home overlooking the Delaware River in Penns Grove, NJ. He enjoyed sailing in his boat and that of his friend, Tom Gilmore, sailing the Delaware Bay and the Eastern Coast. Mr. Brenton moved with his wife to Ladson, SC, in August 2004. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, Summerville, SC. A victim of Alzheimer's disease, he chose to be a body donor to the research program at MUSC.

He leaves his mother-in-law, Anne Cavagnaro; children, Deborah Smith (Ken), Stephen Brenton (Janine), Barbara Soffera (Terry), Peter Brenton (Shirley), Richard Brenton (Nancy), and James Brenton (Lynn); step-children, Kim Laboranti and Kevin Kille (Rafat), 11 grandchildren; and one cousin, John Thurston (Pam) in Sussex, England.
