An Arson investigator with the Orange County Fire Department, Doneslson was shot to death at 1:30 AM in the bedroom of Barbara Lynn Clark, 31, of San Juan Capistrano. In July, 1986, an arson had occured at another apartment that Miss Clark lived in and the Fire Department determined that he was performing job related duties at the time of the shooting. Barbara Clark was also wounded, but survived. The attacker, K.C. Janulatis, was later shot and killed by Border Patrol agents as he fled into Mexico. Janulatis had a previous relationship with Miss Clark, and was considered a suspect in the earlier fire at her home.
