The 1915 census revealed Leonard was a farmer and they were living in Henderson, Jefferson Co, New York. Household members: Leonard Palmer (36), Julia (33), Harley (12), Dora (10) and Harold (8).

The WWI draft card of 1917-1918 revealed Leonard Joseph Palmer (40) was born on Aug 2, 1878. He was a farmer, married, of medium build and medium height and had blue eyes and black hair.

The 1920 census revealed they were living in Ellisburg, Jefferson Co, New York. Household members: Lenard Parlmer (41), Julia (38), Harley (17) and Harold (11).

The 1925 census revealed Leonard was a farm laborer and worked on his own account. They were living in Richland, Oswego Co, New York. Their granddaughter Mary Bargy was living with them. Household members: Lionard J Palmer (46), Julia M Palmer (43), Harlie C Palmer (22), Harold L Palmer (19) and Mary Bargy (5).

The 1930 census revealed Leonard worked on his own account as a dairy farmer and they owned a radio. They owned their farm and were living on Henman Road in Richland, Oswego Co, New York. Leonard was 23 and Julia was 19 when they married. Household members: Leonard J Palmer (51), Julia M (48), Harold L (22) and Mary I Bargy (10).

The 1940 census revealed Julia was living with their son, Harold and family in Lorraine, Jefferson Co, New York. In 1935 she was living on a farm in Rural, Jefferson Co, New York. Julia was married and had an 8th grade education. Household members: Julia M (58), Harold (33), Theresa (41), Shirley (8), William (7), Caroline (6) and Betty Jean (4).

{{LEONARD J. PALMER - ADAMS - Leonard J. Palmer, 85, former southern Jefferson County resident died at 8pm Thursday in Evergreen nursing home, Williams Town, where he had been a patient eight months. He had been ill six years.


The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 am at the Piddock funeral home with Rev. Miles E. Hutchinson, pastor of Lorraine and Mannsville Methodist churches officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 pm Sunday.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Presley Palmer; two sons, Harley of Baldwinsville; Harold L. of Mannsville; a daughter, Mrs. Dora Stowell of Pulaski; a brother, Myron of Adams; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Durgee of Camden; 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Palmer was born in Osceola August 2, 1879 a son of Michael and Amanda Porter Palmer. He operated farms in southern Jefferson and Northern Oswego County. He married Julia Presley February 6, 1903 in Woodville.}}
